Social Listening- Takis

 


I decided to do some research on Takis for this assignment because they are some of my favorite things to snack on. Also, their videos tend to show up a lot on TikTok or other social media platforms.

Takis' value proposition is that it encourages consumers to live life to the fullest by embracing the intense flavors of their snacks. Their value proposition is communicated to customers throughout many ways, for example, packaging, metaverse, and reverse phycology. 

As I was scrolling through the comments, all I could find was positive comments like "I love Takis" as we can see in the screenshot below, "Takis are my favorite chips in the world", "Eating Takis right now!", and many more.


Takis uses their social media to market and brand the partnerships, it is also a way to reach their younger audience. They post their most recent Takis flavor that are going to come out soon. For example, their most recent post on TikTok was the flavor that is out now called Takis Zombie. Takis uses a lot of ways of marketing like partnerships with people who are social media stars like Ninja or Charli D'Amelio so they can get the younger audiences attention. Another way is creating viral trends, this can mostly relate with viral trends on TikTok. I would say Takis is doing great at the moment, from seeing those positive comments on every post, to Takis having 419K on Instagram and 2.2M on TikTok as we can see in the screenshots below. 

When it comes to responding to comments and communicating with customers, they are very good at it. As I was looking through their accounts, I would see that they are always responding to the people. I really liked how in some comments they would mention that they couldn't find a certain type of flavor at a store, and Takis would always reply suggesting other places where they sell it. 


Other comments that I really liked how they replied to are the ones where some people were suggesting some new flavors. I think this can help Takis a lot because they are going to give them what they want, which can lead to people talking more about Takis. I really like how Takis does a good job at staying in contact with customers, I feel like that helps them out a lot, especially if the customers know they are being heard by Takis. 


If I was the brand manager, I feel like there isn't much that I would really change because Takis is already successful enough but to make it simpler and better for the customers, I would include in what locations you can find the new flavors. Also mention if the new flavor that is going to drop will be available in other countries or just the United States because I saw that there were a lot of comments asking if they could find that flavor in Mexico, the UK or other countries.

Lastly, what I learned from this is that Takis is a brand that likes to interact a lot with customers through social media. I think that is something that has helped them out a lot because they build that connection with them. I also looked at other takis accounts like for example Takis.Mexico on TikTok and they also seem to interact with customers a lot.
